General Info

Tucked away on 436 Rue Saint-Zotique Est in Montréal, Pub Arya feels like the kind of restaurant you stumble upon once-and then keep coming back to. The vibe is instantly inviting. It’s trendy without trying too hard, relaxed yet polished, and the kind of place where brunch, dinner, or late-night small plates all feel equally at home.

From the moment you sit down, the menu sets the tone. It’s thoughtfully curated, balancing refined flavors with comfort-driven favorites. One of the standout dishes I tried was the Tataki De Thon Saku Tuna Tataki. Light, fresh, and beautifully presented, it delivers that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture, with just enough seasoning to keep things interesting. It’s the kind of dish that quietly impresses you.

Then there’s the oyster offering-Huîtres à 1$ from 17h-20h-which instantly elevates the whole experience. Whether you’re meeting friends or just unwinding after a long day, this detail adds a lively, social touch to the restaurant. Pair that with a drink from their alcohol selection, and the atmosphere starts to feel effortlessly vibrant.

If you’re craving something richer, the Wagyu Steak and Frites is hard to ignore. The steak is tender and indulgent, while the fries balance it out with a satisfying crisp. Speaking of fries, the Frites Parmesan Truffes deserve their own spotlight. They’re fragrant, slightly decadent, and honestly addictive-perfect as a small plate to share, though you might not want to.

What I appreciated most was the flow of the experience. The table service is attentive without being intrusive, which makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your time. Whether you’re exploring the menu during brunch or sampling a few dishes in the evening, everything feels smooth and well-paced.

The location itself adds to the charm. Nestled in Montréal, this restaurant feels connected to the local scene while still offering a unique identity. Reviews often highlight the same thing I noticed-the balance between quality food, a welcoming setting, and a menu that keeps people curious.

Pub Arya isn’t just about one standout dish or a single moment. It’s about the overall experience-the kind that blends great small plates, a lively yet comfortable setting, and flavors that stay with you long after you leave.

What customers say?

“ Tried this place out for MTLalatable- good but not great (I'd like to go back to try their regular menu though). I found the portion sizes quite small, even considering the price, but I think it was due to the special menu. I was expecting small 1st and 2nd course but the main was definitely lacking in a starch. The gnocchi was outstanding though! Dessert was by far the best course. The atmosphere is really cozy and the service was fantastic all night. Would come back to try the regular menu though. ”

“ The staff was very nice and the food was good, especially the dessert. We had to wait around 15 min between each service, which is a downside if you're hungry and not drinking anything but the pumpkin cheesecake was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend the arancini too, it was amazing :) ”

“ One of my favorite spots in the city. Always good food, good drinks and amazing service. Absolutely no complaints and it's a hit every single time. Last time we went, our waiter Dimitri gave us an exceptional service and the food and cocktails were simply out of this world. I definitely recommend !! ”

“ Pretty smooth vibe! Cozy atmosphere! I was really impressed by the welcoming personnel. From the oysters to the wagyu steak... Delicious menu! Plus, the way they give their everything for a simple mixed drink brings me to the fact that their service is absolutely A1. Nothing to complain about from my end! You'll absolutely love it as well ”

“ It’s a cute spot for a quick drink and snack. The drinks were not too good. I had the sangria and the mango tango. I had the truffle gnocchi which I did enjoy. The service is very good both times I went. It could def use better music for the ambiance. ”

“ Tried during MTL à table, it was absolutely worth it. Although everything was good, the tuna tataki was a bit less interesting flavor-wise. Oysters were nicely presented. Both the zucchini and the autumn salad were delicious, preference for the autumn salad. Gnocchis were in a rich and creamy truffle sauce, which I enjoyed. The fries were perfectly cooked and addictive to eat. I was told the burger was pretty good too. Recommend the chocolate mousse over the tiramisu, but both are good. Our reservation was well managed, service was great, and there was a live DJ onsite. Very pleasant atmosphere, although a bit loud for conversations with the music. All this for only 35$ is rare to find nowadays. We paid more with the cocktails, but this was an excellent experience. ”

“ Visiting as part of MTLàTABLE and loved it! I ordered the oysters, autumn salad, steak frites, and tiramisu. I enjoyed everything and thought it was a really good deal for $35. The restaurant itself unfortunately had very loud music which made it hard to hear the people I was with. The service was also a bit slow between courses. Overall, would totally come back to try more off their regular menu (especially want to check out their cocktail menu next time)! ”

“ Such a great evening! We enjoyed the 4 course MTLaTable. Everything was delicious, the oysters, the tuna, the butternut squash soup, the Wagu steak and truffle fries! Great cocktails too! Such a fun ambiance, with the DJ playing music for everyone to enjoy. Service was just right, didn't feel rushed or forgotten. We will definitely go back ”
